You will have to take a partner along with you when gathering clues from a crime scene in Criminal Case. This partner is going to provide you hints if you are not able to find a hidden item. The maximum number of clues that you can get in a scene is five. Each time you find items quickly one after the other, you earn a multiplier which boosts your score.

Investigating a crime scene in Criminal Case costs your energy. You have a limited amount of energy available to you for investigating cases. You can replenish your energy by consuming snacks like orange juice, potato chips, and burger. Energy can also be refilled by watching video advertisements. In order to examine clues, perform forensic tests and interrogate suspects and witnesses, you need to spend stars. You can collect these stars by achieving a certain score. A total of five stars can be collected from each crime scene. The forensic tests are conducted in a laboratory and require a certain time period to be completed while clues can be examined in the forensic kit. You might have to solve puzzles in order to examine the clues.
